Thank you to our fencers who represented Alliance in the Team events:
Senior Men’s Epee Team 1 (represented by John Cramerus, Anton Piskovatskov, and Lewis Weiss) battled mightily to the semi-finals, but lost to get into the finals. They then lost for the bronze medal by the nerve racking score of 41-42!
Veteran Men’s Epee Team (represented by Velizar Iliev, Michael LoParco, and Alexander Popovici) fought hard and lost their bout to go into the Finals by the close score of 40-39!! They sadly lost their bout for the Bronze Medal and placed 4th respectively. Way to fight, guys!
Alliance Junior Men’s Team 2 (represented by John Cramerus, Michael Popovici, Esteban Sanchez, and Matthew Shlimak) fenced awesomely into the semi-finals. Unfortunately they lost the semi-final match to meat-up with Team 1 for the gold! They fenced for the bronze medal and unfortunately did not make it losing 45-37 and placing 4th respectively. This is the closest Alliance has come to having two Alliance teams get medals in the same event! Way to go, guys!!!
Senior Men’s Epee Team 2 (represented by Michael Popovici, Nicholas Wilson, Sean Wilson, and Darius Zacharakis) fenced great into top 16! Unfortunately they lost for the top 8 with the close score of 45-43. They finished 14th respectively.
Alliance Junior Women’s Team 2 (represented by Ally Micek, Anna Tolley, Sonya Tkachman, and Barbara Vanbenthuysen) fenced very well and looked like they would finish strong. Unfortunately Alliance Team 2 had to come up against Alliance Team 1. Alliance Team 2 placed 7th respectively.
Alliance Junior Men’s Team 3 (represented by TJ Petrosewicz, Logan Shoemaker, Max White, and Darius Zacharakis) fenced well winning the first team match to get into top 32! They finished 26th respectively.
Alliance Junior Men’s Team 4 (represented by Matthew Cramerus, Goutham Nair, and Jonathan Piskovatskov) the “Youth 14 Team” placed 51st in the event respectively.
