Alliance Fencing Academy celebrates it’s 12th anniversary!
Here are some highlights of our achievements in 2015-2016:
Alliance fencers earned more medals than any other club in nation at the 2016 Summer National Championships (16 medals)
Anna Van Brummen made history winning gold medal at the senior world cup in China. Anna also was honored by the US Olympic Committee as the athlete of the month
Courtney and Kelley Hurley with Coach Andrey Geva represented Team USA at Rio Olympics
Sean Wilson became the Cadet World Team Champion in France
Jonathan Piskovatskov won gold medal at the Cadet European Circuit in France
Nicolas Wilson won gold medal at the Cadet European Circuit in Denmark
Gigi Vierheller and Barbara Vanbenthuyswn won bronze medals at the 2016 Junior World Team Championships in France
6 Alliance fencers represented Team USA at cadet, junior, and veteran world championships (Tom Henzler, Anton Piskovatskov, Ari Simmons, Barbara Vanbenthuysen, Gigi Vierheller, and Sean Wilson)
10 national and NAC champions: Francesca Bassa, Wolf Crouse, Isaac Herbst, Sam Imrek, Courtney Hurley, Kelley Hurley, Michael LoParco, Anna Van Brummen, Gigi Vierheller, Sean Wilson
23 Alliance fencers finished in the top 10 national point standings in different age categories. Three of them are national point winners (Isaac Herbst – Youth 14 ME, Courtney Hurley – Senior WE, Sam Imrek – Youth 10 ME)
Alliance has about 300 members!!!
Last season 3 new coaches joined Alliance coaching staff: Natalie Dostert (Germany), Dorian Jimenez (Cuba), and Viktoria Rudneva (Kazakhstan).
